Lukenya Eden community farm is a private demonstration farm teaching small holder farmers on modern sustainable integrated farming methods to enable them end poverty and improve their livelihoods.
Lukenya eden is located in the expansive former lukenya ranching and farming co-operative society land in mavoko constituency of machakos county. The farm is 3.5 kilometres off Kangundo rd along the Joska –Kinanie road and only 27 km from Nairobi city centre.
The farms ’main products are mangoes, oranges African vegetables(managu sagget, murenda, kunde ,kales, spinach, amaranth, milk, fish and mushrooms.
The farms’s main markets are the individual households, abattoirs and institutions and Nairobi’s vegetable markets.
Our primary objective is to alleviate poverty and economic empowerment of Lukenya residents through implementation of modern sustainable integrated farming techniques and ensure food security.
Improving the level of income and quality of life of Lukenya small holder farmers by creating alternative means of income through selling of mango fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, milk and chicken products.
Improve health of the neighborhood by providing whole fresh milk at pocket friendly prices of ksh.50 compared to ksh.100 per liter of processed milk.
Our project specifically targets promotion of mango farming and related value addition methods in Lukenya.
Transfer technology to small holder farmers by teaching them self-sustaining integrated farming methods available in the local area so as to empower them economically and improve the community livelihoods.
